Bill, 74, 0f Avon, formerly of Clayton, passed away this past Thursday at Majestic Care of Avon where he was a resident. A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, June 3, 2022 at the HAZELWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH with visitation from 12:00 noon until the time of service. The burial of his cremains will take place in Center Valley Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest with his wife of 36 years, "Bert".
Bill was born in San Diego California to the late Albert and Herlinda (Patrone) Coffman. He was a graduate of Southport High School in Indianapolis. Bill married Roberta Jean Brock April 2, 1977, she preceded him in death February 19, 2013. He was a laboratory technician at Eli Lilly for 30+ years, retiring in 2003. Bill was a faithful member of Hazelwood Christian Church, serving his Lord and church in many ways over the years as a deacon, elder, and youth group leader. Bill now resides in the presence of his Lord and Savior. He was an avid fisherman, having entered and winning many bass tournaments. Bill enjoyed "good ole time rock & roll", the opportunity of having met Bobby Knight on two separate occasions, and the fact that Purdue University did not win an NCAA Basketball Tournament in his life time.
Survivors included his children, Chad Coffman, Kelly Moore, Emilie (Jason) Ritchie of Lebanon, In., Adam J. Coffman of Clinton, In., grandchildren, Skylar and Neva Ritchie, and a sister, Lori Flemming.
