Funeral services for VIRGINIA "RUTH" DEICH, 97, of Danville will be held at 1 pm Fri., Apr. 7 at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE with visitation from 11 am until time of service. Burial will follow in Danville South Cemetery.
"Ruth" was born in Rockport, In. to Albert V. and Mary A. (Graham) Wade. She graduated from Danville High School in 1936, continued her education at Central Normal College, graduating in 1940. "Ruth" went on to attend Butler University, and received her Masters Degree in Education from Indiana State University. She married her husband of 58 years, Paul B. Deich in 1943 in San Francisco before he left for Pearl Harbor. Paul preceded her in death in 2001. "Ruth" taught business, physical education, and art at the Mill Creek Community Schools for 43 years, retiring in 1991. She was active in the former Danville O.E.S. Chapter, the ADK Chapter of Alpha Zeta Sorority, Mill Creek Teachers Assoc., ISTA, and NEA. "Ruth"'s passions were reading, cheering on the Butler Bulldogs, and discussing current political and social events. Contributions may be given to the Hendricks Regional Health Foundation in her memory.
Survivors include her children, Dana (Joe) Neher of Danville, Kenton (Genevieve) Deich of Brentwood, CA., grandchildren, Katie Stout of Danville, Marcy Reyes of Antioch, CA., Derek Deich of Austin, TX., and 8 great grandchildren. "Ruth" was preceded in death by 2 brothers and 2 sisters.
