VIRGIL R UNDERWOOD

90, of Danville, died Jan.12,2017 at his home. Services will be held
2 p.m., Mon., Jan. 16, 2017 at Whitestone Christian Church located west of New Winchester on US 36, with visitation there from 12 noon
until time of service. Burial: Clayton Cemetery, Clayton, Indiana.
Virgil was born June 07, 1926 in Maplewood, In. to Victor and Minnie (Long) Underwood. He graduated from Pittsboro High School, later marrying
Geraldine "Jeri" Bartley on Aug. 31, 1947. She preceded him on
Oct. 29, 2015. Virgil was a farmer all his life and worked for Danville
Community School Corporation for 30 years, retiring June 01, 2000.
He was a former member of the Maplewood Christian Church, later
transferring his membership to Whitestone Christian Church. He served
his country in World War II in the U.S. Army. Survivors include 2
sons: Gary (Becky) Underwood and Steve Underwood both of Danville,
1 brother Harold Underwood of Lancaster, Ca.
