Velma L. Spears

Private graveside services for VELMA L. SPEARS, 78, of Danville, will be held in SPRINGHILL CEMETERY at Cartersburg.

Velma passed away after battling years of debilltating illness. She fought a hard fight until the end. She was born in Indianapolis, In. to the late Lawrence and Wilma (Cunningham) Schakel. Velma was a graduate of Arsenal Technical High School in Indianapolis. She was a loving mom, grandma, and great grandma. Survivors include her children, James E. (Diane) Spears, Jr., - Danville, Tony (Missy) Spears - Indianapolis, Tammy (Keith) Cooper - Danville, grandchildren, Dustin Wooden, Tara (Cory Johnson) Cooper, Jamie (Antwan) Mason, Lacey (Travis) Watson, Taylor (Krysta) Cooper, Tiffany Spears, TJ (Stephanie) Spears, Brandy Wooden, Travis (Trisha) Spears, Jacob Spears, 12 great grandchildren, and Michael Spears, brother-in-law and loyal friend.
