Thelma G. Stevenson

March 21, 1932 — December 13, 2018

Funeral services for THELMA G. STEVENSON, 86, will be held at 10:30 am Thurs., Dec. 20, 2018 at BARTLETT CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Avon, with visitation there 4-8 pm Wed., Dec. 19, 2018. Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery where she will be laid to rest next to her husband, Harvie, who preceded her in death only last month on Nov. 12, 2018.

Thelma was born in Clay County, Indiana to the late Cash Clay and Cora Myrtle (Dalton) Hyatt. She graduated from Clay City High School. Thelma married Harvie R. Stevenson on Dec. 18, 1954 in Bowling Green In. They soon would have celebrated 64 years of marriage prior to their deaths. She was an active member of Bartlett Chapel and the United Methodist Women. Thelma was a wonderful homemaker, helping to take care of her family.

Survivors include her four sons, Mark of Lebanon, IN., Tony (Karen), of Monrovia, IN., Dale, of Plainfield, IN., and Gale (Wendy) Stevenson of Reelsville, IN. Also surviving are 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and her sisters, Alta Edwards and Mary Krauchi, both of Clay City, IN. Thelma was also preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, 3 brothers, and a sister.

Contributions may be given to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in memory of her granddaughter, Ashley Stevenson, and/or Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church.
