Sandy Clampitt, 81, of Plainfield, IN passed away Wednesday, November 2, 2022 surrounded by family.
Born in Cincinnati, OH March 23, 1941 to Samuel Carol and Catherine (Smith) Lewis, she was 1 of 5 children. The family relocated to Indianapolis where Sandy graduated from George Washington High School, class of 1959. Sandy was a Veteran of the United States Army Medical Company, serving after she graduated High School. Harlan and Sandy married March 25, 1961 and spent the next 61 years raising their family and sharing their faith through prison & nursing home ministry, where they positively impacted the lives of everyone they encountered.
Sandy is survived by her husband, Harlan Lee Clampitt and their 5 children, Jeffrey (Dianna) Clampitt of Plainfield, IN. Janet Tummers (Bill Purdue) of Greenwood, IN. Brian (Joy) Clampitt of Avon, IN. Scott Clampitt of Erie, MI and Douglas (Sarah) Clampitt of Mooresville, IN. Sister, Donna Rogers of Plainfield, IN and Diana Mills of Indianapolis, IN as well as 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Samual & Catherine, Sandy is preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Rodewald and brother, Richard Lewis.
A visitation will be held from 12pm - 1pm on Monday, November 7th, 2022, with services following immediately, Weaver & Randolph Funeral Home Clayton, IN. Burial will follow at the Clayton Cemetery.
