Sharon D. Curtis of Danville passed away peacefully at the Villages of Avon on Friday, May 3, 2024.  She was born July 6, 1933 to the late, Oral "Buck" and Lora (Kivett) Swain.  

Sharon is a 1951 graduate of Danville High School. She married Ernest "Vic" Curtis on April 16, 1977, he preceded her in death on March 2, 1998.  Sharon worked as a cashier for the Danville IGA and Kroger's, also for Greyhounds Profit Foods in Indianapolis.  She was an avid bowler and enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Hendricks County Quilting Club, "Rag Pickers", as well as a member of  the Danville Christian Church.

Sharon is survived by her three children, James (Lisa) Russell of Avon, Daniel (Teresa) Russell of Mooresville, and Ginny (Wayne) Ellison of Danville; 6 grandchildren, James Selmier, Mindi Golay, Cindi Swanson, Matt Ellison, Lindsay Lynch, Cory Russell; 8 great grandchildren, Jordan Selmier, Shianne Swanson, Sierra Swanson, Austin Golay, Dokota Swanson, KayLynn Golay, Evyenne Lynch, Macoy Lynch; great-great grandchildren, Isabella and Sophia DeHebreard; sister Orla Rains of Indianapolis.  In addition to her husband, Sharon is predeceased by her sister, Shirley Osborne Ogletree.  

In accordance with her wishes, a graveside service will take place, following cremation, on Thursday, May 16, 2024 at 12:00p.m. in Danville South Cemetery.  

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Sharon's name to the American Cancer Society P.O.Box 6704, Hagerstown, MD 21741. Online condolences may be offered to the family at www.heltonandharrisfuneralhomes.com.
