Ronald G. "Ron" Reed

April 18, 1942 — May 9, 2017

Funeral services for RONALD G. "RON" REED, 75, of New Winchester, will be held at 11 am Tues., May 16, at WHITESTONE CHRISTIAN CHURCH, of which he was a member and served as a deacon, located 7 miles west of Danville on US Highway 36, with visitation there 4-8 pm Mon., May 15. Burial will take place in New Winchester Cemetery.

"Ron" was born in Scottsburg, In. to Ralph P. and Jessie A. (Gates) Reed. He was a 1960 graduate of New Winchester High School. "Ron" married Jo Ellen Harmless May 5, 1962, she survives. He was a tool engineer at Allison Division of General Motors in Indianapolis for 30 years, retiring in 1992. "Ron" was very active in the Masonic Order, having served as past master of the Groveland (In.) Masonic Lodge #542, now affiliated with the Greecastle (In.) Masonic Lodge #47, past worthy patron of the Groveland (In.) O.E.S. Chapter #330,and past associate Bethel Guardian of Jobs' Daughters Bethel #106 Bainbridge (In.).

Surviving with his wife of 55 years, Jo Ellen, are his children, Joe Allen (Pamela) Reed - Avon, Ronda Gale (Dan) Prather - Danville, adopted children and their children, Rick (Lisa) Gibson - Coatesville, 6 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, a brother, Merrell E. (Sandy) Reed - Homosassa Springs, Fl., and a sister, Sheliah F. (Joe) Kinnaman - Avon. "Ron" will be sorely missed for his wonderful sense of humor and orneriness. Contributions may be given to the church in "Ron's" memory.
