Rod, 95, of Avon, passed away Sunday morning at Avon Healthcare. A private family graveside service will be held at Kennedy Cemetery in Terre Haute, Indiana, where Rod will be laid to rest next to his wife of 60 years, Edna Mae. There will be no visitation.
Rod was born in Kansas City, Kansas to the late Henry August and Ruth (Inskeep) Sieck. He graduated from Central Kitsap High School in Silverdale, Washington. Rod married Edna Mae Sparks Sept, 1, 1950, she preceded him in death Mar. 5, 2010. He had served as vice-president of sales for Locke Stove Company of Kansas City for many years. Rod believed in both God and Country. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII. He was a former active member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon, where he served in many capacities, including lay-leader.
Survivors include his daughters, Susan "Susie" (Gary) Proctor of Heritage Lake, (Coatesville, IN.), Judy (John) Conner of Terre Haute, grandsons, Derek and Scott (Pallavi) Conner, all of Indianapolis. Rod was preceded in death by a brother and two sisters.
Rod's family has asked that contributions be given to the Indiana Parkinsons Foundation, 14350 Mundy Dr., Suite #800 - #181, Noblesville, IN. 46060, and/or the American Diabetes Association, P.O. Box 7023, Merrifield, VA. 22116-7023.
