Robert E. Meranda

Robert, 80, of Clayton, passed away early Wednesday morning in IU-Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. A funeral service will take place 11:00 am Saturday, January 23, 2021 in Ben Davis Christian Church, located at 701 S. High School Road Indianapolis, with visitation from 10:00 am until time of service. Burial will immediately follow in Clayton, IN. Cemetery The family has asked that the wearing of masks and social distancing be observed.

Robert was born in Indianapolis to the late Harold Eugene and Faye (Broady) Meranda. He graduated from Ben Davis High School with the class of 1958. Robert married Judith Arlene Zimmerman April 9, 1961, she preceded him in death May 9, 2018. He had been an engineer at Allison Gas Turbine in Indianapolis for 29 years, retiring in 1994. He was a member of Ben Davis Christian Church, as well as the Lynhurst Masonic Lodge #723.

Survivors include his children, Robert H. "Rob" (Angela) Meranda of Clayton, William F. "Bill" (Shonda) Meranda of Plainfield, Dona, (Daniel) Ortega of Litchfield, Arizona, and six (6) grandchildren.
