Rex Allen Anderson, 70, of Clayton passed away at his home, surrounded by his loving family, on August 25, 2022. A celebration of life will take place at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Rex’s name to the American Cancer Society.
Rex was born in New Castle, Indiana, a son of the late Henry and Clarice (Huffman) Anderson.
After graduating from Howe High School, he served his country in the U.S. Navy and was honorably discharged in 1973. On October 19, 1974, Rex and Diana S. (Mahurin) Anderson were married. He worked as a Commercial Painter (Local Union 47) until his retirement in 2014. He enjoyed being outside, leather crafting and woodworking.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 48 years, Diana S. Anderson, their daughter Natasha Anderson of Plainfield; brothers, Henry (Jenny) Hoffman of Greenfield, and Skip (Corey) Hancock of Indianapolis; sister-in-law Jessica Thompson of Cumberland, Sisters-in-law, Sabrina (Rod) Pate and Natalie Skiles. Rex was preceded in death by brothers, Morris Thompson and Scotty Hoffman, and brother-in-law, Sheldon Skiles. Also missing Rex is his faithful companion and best buddy, Bo. The family would like to offer a special ‘thank you’ to their Clayton neighbors for all of their support.
