In Loving Memory of Ray L. Kappmeyer, 82, of Danville, was born on November 10, 1941, in Indianapolis, Indiana, to his late parents Leslie and Carol (Wilder) Kappmeyer.
Ray was a 1959 Southport High School graduate and continued his education by attending the University of Cincinnati and the University of Wisconsin, a Graduate School of Banking. This led him to his 42-year career in Cash Management at Indiana National Bank, which after several mergers, became Chase Bank.
After retirement Ray traveled with his wife, Pam, and especially loved vacationing in the Southwest where they spent time in New Mexico. Cruising and ocean voyaging were some of Ray’s favorite vacations, traveling on 15 plus cruises in the Caribbean, the Baltics, the Mediterranean, Alaska and Mexico.
Ray had a great appreciation for Native American culture, which began over 52 years ago as he and his son, Greg, started participating in Boy Scouts of America. The interest grew and the entire family began traveling and participating throughout the country. Ray sang with the Tecumseh Lodge and presided as Powwow Chairman for over 25 years, growing the dance and festivities into a weekend everyone looks forward to attending.
Ray was a family man and always looked forward to spending time with his wife, Pam, his daughters, Jenni Kappmeyer and Cyndi McKee, sons Greg Kappmeyer and Doug (Regina) Cantrell, his grandchildren, Taylor (Allison) Huey, Dalton (Brittany) McKee, Connor Huey, Kaylie (Steven) Woods, and especially his great grandchildren, Brayden McKee, Amelia McKee, and Elena Huey, and his sister, Barbra (Bobbie) Liden of Port Townsend, WA.
The family invites all loved ones, relatives and friends to Ray’s Celebration of Life, Sunday, July 28, 2024 at the Hendricks County Fairgrounds North/South Building.
