Phillip Allan Griffith

Funeral services for PHILLIP ALLAN GRIFFITH, 82, of Danville, will be held at 10 am Thurs., Apr. 6 at the HAZELWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH, of which he was a member with a military graveside service to follow at 3 pm in DUGGER, IN. CEMETERY. Visitation will be at the church from 4-8 pm Wed.

Phil was born in Sullivan County, In.; grew-up in Dugger. He was a son of Murray and Mildred (Allen) Griffith. Phil graduated in 1953 from Union High School where he was an All-State Conference center in football. He married Kay McGhee Sept. 23, 1956. Phil had been employed at Hendricks County R.E.M.C for 54 years in many areas before retiring. He also served in the elective offices of the R.E.M.C. Indiana Statewide Superintendents Association. Phil also served his country in the U.S. Army. Survivors include his beloved wife of 60+ years, Kay, daughters, Deborah (Steve) Mayo - Plainfield, Angela (Tom) Taylor and Sherrie Armour, all of Clayton, Darla (Kent) Nelson - Parker, CO., also loved and blessed by his 8 grandchildren, and 9 great granddaughters. Phil is also survived by his sister, Marilyn Bohnert - Dugger,In.
Because children were such a joy in his life, contributions may be given to the Hazelwood Christian Church/Youth & Childrens Ministries Programs at 9947 S. Co. Road 0, Clayton, In. 46118.
