Norma Jean (Stallcop) Steele

Funeral services for NORMA JEAN will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, May 17, 2019 at Whitestone Christian Church, located 7 miles west of Danville on US Hwy. 36. Visitation will be there from 12:00 noon until the time of service. Burial will follow in New Winchester Cemetery.

Norma Jean was born in Putnam County to the late Hobart and Frances (Beaman) Stallcop. She was a graduate of Reelsville High School, and attended Indiana Business College in Indianapolis. She married Melvin W. Steele, who preceded her in death Aug. 30, 2004. She was a wonderful homemaker and assisted Melvin in their farm operations. Norma Jean and Melvin were instrumental in the founding of Whitestone Christian Church. She was also a member of the Groveland Homemakers Club.

Survivors include her children, Jerry (Barbara) Steele of Danville, Dale (Jean) Steele of Brownsburg, Dennis (Penny) Steele of Llano, TX., Donna (Michael) Pond of Ft. Wayne, 16 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, sisters, June Foreman and Sue Bartley, both of Reelsville.

Contributions may be given to the Whitestone Christian Church, 8045 W. US Hwy. 36, Coatesville, In.
