Mike, 70, of Bainbridge, fprmerly of Danville, passed away Tuesday evening in Hendricks Regional Health Hospital. A funeral mass will be held 11:00 AM Monday, February 22, 2021 at Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church in Danville. Visitation will take place from 10:00 AM until the time of the mass also at the church. The family is asking that masks be worn. and social distancing be observed. A cremation will follow, with burial of Mike's cremains to take place in Bainbridge, Indiana Cemetery at a later date.
Mike was born in Indianapolis to the late Joseph W. and Elsa (Miller) King, Sr. Although he graduated from Speedway High School, Mike's heart was in Cathederal High School where had attended previously. Mike married Charlene Clark August 11, 1973. He had been an aircraft mechanic working at Allison Transmission Plant #5, and retired from General Motors in 2005 as a PST Operator. Mike had been an active member of Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church for many years.
Survivors include his wife of almost 48 years, Charlene, children, Kari (Justin) Tate of Danville, Jason King of Heritage Lake, Ryan (Emily) King of Bainbridge, Joey (Carrie) King of Danville, 10 grandchildren, a brother, Joseph W. King, Jr. of Indianapolis, and a sister, Sharon (Derald) Cooper of Pittsboro.
