Michael Ross Kidwell

January 16, 1947 — December 17, 2020

The family and friends of Michael "Mike" R. Kidwell invite you to join them on Saturday, August 21, 2021 for a "Celebration of Life" service at DANVILLE UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, located at 820 W. MILL STREET in Danville, Indiana. Join us to laugh, cry, and share stories of the man who meant so much to all of us. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am - 11:00 am, with the service begining at 11:00 am. A graveside service with full military honors will follow in DANVILLE SOUTH CEMETERY, located at 55 S. CROSS STREET, in Danville where Mike's remains will be laid to rest.

Mike was born in Indianapolis, IN. to the late Ross E. and Florence "June" (Chambers) Kidwell. He graduated from Plainfield High School, received a BS degree in Zoology from Indiana University, and furthered his education by receiving a MPA degree from Cal State University at Hayward, California. Mike married "Vicki" Thompson Nov. 24, 1976. He was a Farm Services Agent for the U.S.D.A. (United States Dept. of Agriculture), serving as manager for both the Danville Office in Hendricks County, and the Rockville Office in Parke County. He was a former member of the Danville Optimist Club. Mike loved his country, his military career spanned 28 years. A Vietnam War veteran serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the U.S.S. Enterprise, and again in the U.S. Army, retiring as a Master Sergeant in 2003.

Survivors include his wife of 44 years, Vicki, children, Brian (Danielle) Kidwell of Danville, Travis Kidwell of Plainfield, Beth (Michael) Schultz of Farmington, MI., 5 grandchildren, brothers, Timothy C. Kidwell of Florida, and Theodore E. (Barb) Kidwell of Plainfield. Mike was preceded in death by a brother, Anthony E. Kidwell, and a sister, Kathleen Kidwell.

Contributions may be given to Danville United Methodist Church memory of Mike.
