A celebration of life service for MARTHA LOUISE STURM, 93, will be held at 12:00 noon Fri., May 25, 2018 at NEW WINCHESTER CHRISTIAN CHURCH with visitation there from 10:00 am until time of service. To help with medical study, Martha bequeathed her remains to the Indiana University Anatomical School. Burial of her cremains will take place next to her late husband "Bob" in New Winchester Cemetery at a later date.
Martha was born in Clay City, Illinois to Abel and Bessie (Evans) Denton. She graduated from Shortridge High School in Indianapolis. Martha married Robert L. "Bob" Sturm, Sr. in Neosho, Missouri on Nov. 14, 1942, he preceded her in death Jan. 23, 2014. Martha was a homemaker, a very active member of the New Winchester Christian Church, a former Cub and Girl Scout leader in Indianapolis and enjoyed quilting. She co-owned the "Snack Shack" food wagon that provided tasty food at auctions and different events.
Martha is survived by her children, Linda Plunkett - Danville, Robert L. (Janet) Sturm, Jr. - North Salem, 4 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
