Lura L. Maxwell

Funeral services for LURA L. MAXWELL, 94, of Danville, a Birth Right Quaker, will be held 1 pm Fri., May 19 at DANVILLE FRIENDS CHURCH, of which she was a member. Visitation will also be there 11 am until time of service. Burial will follow in the Sugar Grove Cemetery at Plainfield.

Lura was born in Ohio to Alva J. and Amy R. (Pickett) Hampton. She was a 1943 graduate of Friends Boarding School in Barnesville, OH., and later Central Normal College in Danville. Lura married Albert "Wilson" Maxwell Mar. 26, 1948, he preceded her in death Aug. 7, 2010. She had been an accountant with Jim Davis CPA, now Donovan CPA, for almost 30 years, retiring in 1986. Lura was also a former member of the Hendricks County Homemakers. Survivors include her sons, David A. (Carmen) Maxwell - Salem, OR., Bruce A. Maxwell - Danville, 2 grandchildren, and a brother, Lloyd "Bud" Hampton - Anniston, AL. The family has asked that contributions may be given to the church in their mother's memory.
