Lillian Rose Wills

January 23, 1931 — July 20, 2020

Lillian passed away Monday evening at her home, surrounded by her loving daughters and family. Because of these unpredictable times, private services will be held both at Northview Christian Church Danville, as well as at the graveside service with interment in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.

Lillian was born in Balkan, Kentucky to the late Albert and Zora (Owens) Cornelius. She was truly a "coal miners daughter". Living in a miners camp, hard work for her was a daily routine. She attended the Pineville, Ky. Schools, where she met and married Marvin Byrdwell. She and Marvin were married for 19 years. While working at Hendricks Community Hospital in Danville, as a nursing assistant, she met Wayne Wills, while assisting his mother. They were married in 1970, until his passing in 2009.

Lillian was the "sauce" that held Dave's All American Pizza together for the 37 years that she served as general manager and everything that was needed to help Dave be the success that he was until his passing in January of 2020. She retired from her "positions" in 2014. Lillian and her family were thrilled as she was presented a high school diploma in 1991 from Mr. Pete Davis, superintendent of the Danville Community School Corp., to recognize her hard work and academic acheivement.

"remain strong to your faith", "love your family", and, "always give your best in your work". This is the legacy that Lillian Rose Wills has not only given her family, but maybe to all of us. Lillian's faith was given in her membership and service at Kingsway Christian Church, Northview Christian Church, and Faith Baptist Church.

Survivors include her children, Patricia L. (Jim) Owens - Naples, Fl., Cathy (Jerry) Allen - Danville, Donna Kay (Robert) Yeley, Clayton, Tammy Lynn (Eric) Prouty - Lakewood Ranch, Fl.,daughter-in-law, Sherry Byrdwell - Danville, 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren,  step-children, Bonnie (Alton) Lawson, Dwayna (Larry) Alkire, Gary Wills, Kevin (Sue) Wills, 11 step- grandchildren, and 21 step- great grandchildren. Lillian was also preceded in death by her daughter, Julia, sisters, Ida Cornelius, Doris Wilder, Barbara Morello, brothers, James and Gene Cornelius.

Contributions may be given to: Open The Door Project in care of Northview Christian Church (623 N. State Road 39, Danville, In. 46122 or at https://northviewchristian.org/open-the-door/.)
