Kendall Harrold Hendricks

September 21, 1968 — August 6, 2022

Kendall Hendricks, 53, of Brownsburg, passed away unexpectedly while out on his usual morning walk on August 6, 2022.

Kendall Harrold Hendricks was born in Terre Haute, IN, to Jimmie D. and the late JoAnn (Harrold) Hendricks.  He graduated from Terre Haute South H.S. with the class of 1987.  He went on to pursue a degree in Elementary Education from Butler University, graduating in 1991. He later earned his Masters in Administration from Butler University with EPPSP,  Group 15. Kendall continued his education earning his PhD from Purdue University in Educational Leadership in 2011. After 29 years, he retired from a career in education and education administration. Prior to retiring, he taught in Washington Township, Brownsburg Community Schools, and Danville Community Schools, as well as holding professorship at Marian University and Purdue University. Kendall served in the roles of classroom teacher, administrator, and chief financial officer throughout his career.

He proudly served his community as a member of the Brownsburg Kiwanis Club for many years and was most recently serving in his elected role as a Hendricks County Councilman, elected in 2020. Kendall loved all things motorsports, the Indianapolis 500 and the Cincinnati Reds. He loved golfing with his family and friends and was so proud of his first hole-in-one just a few weeks ago.

On March 28, 1992, he married his best friend, Mary McCauley Boles. Survivors include his loving wife of 30 years, Mary (Boles) Hendricks, their children, Benjamin H. Hendricks (Rosemary), Riley (Joe) Powers, all of Danville; father, Jimmie D. Hendricks, brother, Marty (Abby) Hendricks, all of Terre Haute. Also missing him are 6 nephews, 1 niece, extended family members, and his sidekick, Gus the beagle.

A Celebration will take place on Saturday, August 13, 2022, at the Brickyard Crossing Golf Course Clubhouse located at 4400 W. 16 th St, Indianapolis, IN 46222. The family will receive friends beginning at 4:00 pm until the service begins at 6:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, please bring non-perishable food items, gift cards, or donations for The Community Blessing Box that Kendall diligently kept stocked.
