Judith Ann Clark

December 12, 1946 — August 24, 2024

Danville

Judith “Judy” Ann Clark, 77, of Danville, passed away, surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 24, 2024. She was born in Princeton, West Virginia on December 12, 1946, a daughter of the late Alonzo and Mary “Fran” (Brown) Honaker. In addition to her parents, she is predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Brad Clark, her sister, Carla Myers and her step father, Marion “Bo” Walker.

Judy was raised in the hills of West Virginia for the early years of her life. Being a coal miner’s daughter, she grew up modest and family oriented. Though times were tough, she always recalled feeling blessed and grateful for the small things in life. It wasn’t uncommon to get a stern “Judy side eye” if caught using the term ‘hillbilly’, as she stood proud and cherished her southern roots. Her memories as a little girl were some of her most treasured. Her family relocated to Indiana just before Judy was to enter third grade due to her father taking up new work. She wasn’t so fond of Indiana at first, and she begrudgingly made her way through the school years. She began to make lifetime friends, and Judy settled into life up north. Money was tight for Judy’s family, and after her father’s passing, she began working at the Soda Fountain and later took a position with Lawrence Drugs. It was while working there that she met the love of her life, Bradley Clark. She went on to graduate from Danville High School with the class of 1964. After graduating from Danville, she attended St. Elizabeth Nursing School while planning a wedding to her high school sweetheart. Judy married Brad in January of 1966. Filled with undeniable love and admiration for one another, their marriage was highly regarded, and set the precedent for many who knew them. Following her marriage to Brad, Judy chose to be a stay at home mom, bringing three boys into the world. After nearly a decade of raising her family, she returned to school to receive her Medical Assistant certification in 1977 where she was in the top five of her class. She began her career at the then Family Medical Center as a Certified Medical Assistant, and eventually became the Clinical Manager supporting American Health Network for many years before retiring in December 2021. Judy was a member of Tri Kappa Sorority, the Danville Quilting Club, and a tremendous friend group who shared many laughs and their love for travel. Beyond her friends and family, she enjoyed “having lunch with the ladies”, shopping, being a voracious reader, and her excellent craftsmanship as a quilt maker.

Judy is survived by her three sons whom she considers her life’s greatest accomplishment-Troy (Kirsten) Clark of Frankfort, IN, Brian (Lori) Clark of Danville, IN and Adam (Shana) Clark of Amo, IN; 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; and her sister, Marisa (Stephen) Crouch of North Salem, IN.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, September 15, 2024 from 1-2 p.m. at the Helton & Harris Funeral Home, 4712 Pennsylvania St., CLAYTON, Indiana 46118.  A Celebration of Judy's life will begin at 2 p.m., Burial of her ashes will follow in the Mill Creek Friends Cemetery, Danville, IN.  Online condolences may be offered at www.heltonandharrisfuneralhomes.com.
