Joseph J. Cook

77, passed April 01, 2018 at Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. Services will be held at 11:00am, Friday, April 6, 2018 at the DANVILLE FRIENDS CHURCH located at 45 County Road 200 East, Danville, Indiana. Visitation will be 4p-8p, Thursday April 5, 2018 at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE, 102 South Indiana Street, Danville, Indiana. Burial will follow the service on Friday in the Danville South Cemetery.

Joseph was the son to the late Vernice Edward and Rose Marie Panice Cook. He was born in Chicago, Illinois later moving to Indiana. He graduated from Fair Oaks High School and furthered his education at Indiana State University, receiving a Masters Degree. Joe married Judith (Carr) Cook, raising 3 children. Joe was a Spanish and History Teacher at Ben Davis High School in Indianapolis, retiring in 1997. He and is wife were owners of a Health Food Store in Danville on the square. He was very active for many years in the Hendricks County Community Theater and  President of the Indiana Retired Teachers Association. Upon the death of his wife Judy, Joe moved to Indianapolis and became active in the Shakespeare Park Community Theater of Garfield Park. He meet Bradley Jones in 2003 and they later married in 2017.

Survivors include his husband Bradley Jones, a son Joseph C. Cook and his significant other Leslie Hockman, a foster brother, Jeff Stafford and a sister, Mary Merrill. Joe was preceded by a daughter Julie Cook in 2006.
