John Delbert Edwards

John Delbert Edwards, 66, of Plainfield, passed away on Sunday, October 6, 2024. He was born in Greencastle, Indiana on February 8, 1958, a son of the late John William and Marian (Burris) Arney. 

John graduated from Cascade High School with the class of 1976. Shortly after, he joined the United States Air Force and continued his studies at the College of the Air Force with a focus on Applied Aerospace Technology. After serving our country, John worked as a bank teller with the National Bank of Detroit, and also as a prison guard with the Department of Corrections. He was a Mason with Lodge #131 in Stilesville. John was a loving father, brother, grandfather and great-grandfather and friend, he will be dearly missed 

John is survived by his children, Annette McGlothin of Clayton, IN, John Daniel Edwards of Plainfield, IN; grandchildren, Michelle Vanier, Destiny Wright, and Desiree Vanier; great-grandchildren, Quentin, Troy, Dianna and Elias; a half-brother, John Kevin Edwards, a half-sister, Catherine Lucenta, stepsisters, Pam Patterson and Kim Bennett, and a stepbrother, James Arney.
In keeping with John’s wishes, cremation will take place with no formal services held. In lieu of a service, please consider making a donation to the Wounded Warrior Project in John’s memory.
