Jeremiah V. "Jerry" Weed

Funeral services for "JERRY" will be held at 10:00 am Thurs., Feb. 7, 2019 at NORTHVIEW CHRISTIAN CHURCH in Danville, of which he was a member  with visitation there 4-8 pm Wed., Feb. 6, 2019. Burial will take place at 12:00 noon Fri., 2019 in the WOLFE CEMETERY  at GEORGETOWN, IN. Jerry passed away at Hendricks Regional Health on Sunday after a six month battle with brain cancer.

Jerry was born in Albany, New York to the late Vincent S. and Mary (Kosierowski) Weed. He was a 1965 graduate of Central Falls (Rhode Island) High School, received a BS degree in Industrial Arts from Rhode Island College in 1969, completed his Master's Degree in Industrial Arts from Ball State University in 1970 where he met his future wife, LuAnn (Walts) Weed. They were married June 26, 1970 in New Albany, IN. Jerry taught industrial arts in Massachusetts prior to going into business in Danville with Robert Rader in 1971. Rader's Fabrics was well known for all types of fabric with Jerry being the current owner since 1976. Jerry served his country not only in the Rhode Island National Guard, but the Indiana National Guard as well. He served his community, being active in the Danville JayCees, Danville Rotary Club, (Past-President), and on the Danville Community School Corp. Board for 12 years.

Survivors include his wife of almost 49 years, LuAnn, children, Tina (John) Campbell of Speedway, Michael (Kimberly) Weed of Avon, grandchildren. Ellie, Brody, Abby, Nathan, brother, Alan Weed of Rhode Island, and sisters, Angela (Bob) Hormanski of Rhode Island, and Susan (Paul) Zapasnik of Massachusetts.

Contributions may be given to the Barnabas Fund of Northview Christian Church, and/or the Danville Community Education Foundation, Inc.
