Harvie R. Stevenson

March 26, 1932 — November 12, 2018

Funeral services for Harvie R. Stevenson, 86, of Danville will be held at 10:30 am Fri., Nov. 16, 2018 at BARTLETT CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in Avon with visitation there 4-8 pm Thurs., Nov. 15, 2018. Burial with full military honors will take place in Clayton Cemetery.

Harvie was born in Ashboro IN., a son of William W. and LaVerna E. (Payne) Stevenson. He was a graduate of Coalmont (IN.) High School. Harvie married Thelma G. Hyatt on Dec. 18, 1954. Harvie had been an inspector at Allison's in Indianapolis for 38 years prior to retiring and was also a retiree of Local #993. He was a member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon, the Bridgeport (IN.) Masonic Lodge #162, the Bartimaeus Lodge U.D., and a former member of the Wayne Twsp. Fire Dept. Harvie served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War.

Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Thelma, sons, Mark Stevenson of Lebanon. IN., Tony (Karen) Stevenson of Monrovia, IN., Dale Stevenson of Plainfield, and Gale (Wendy) Stevenson of Reelsville, IN. 9 grandchildren, 3 step-grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers and 2 sisters,
James Stevenson of Niles, MI., Warren Stevenson of Lewis, IN., Anna Denny of Jasonville, IN., and Wilma Cochran of Coalmont, IN. Harvie was preceded in death by two grandchildren.
