Harold M. "Bud" Thompson

Funeral services for HAROLD M. "BUD" THOMPSON, 98, will be held at 11 am Fri., Oct. 27, 2017 at BARTLETT CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, located at 4396 E. Main St. Avon, In., with visitation there 4-8 pm Thurs., Oct. 26, 2017. Burial will take place in Danville South Cemetery next to his first wife of 40 years Kathryn.

"Bud" was born in Hendricks County to Ernest and Vesta (Gorrell) Thompson. He graduated from Danville High School in 1938. He had been a purchasing agent at Diamond Chain in Indianapolis for 43 years before retiring. "Bud" served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, being discharged in 1946 as a Tech. Sergeant . He married Kathryn Mackey in 1946, she preceded him in death in 1986. He later married H. Louise Blum in 1994, she preceded him in death in 2014. "Bud" enjoyed spending time with his family, was an active and faithful member of Bartlett Chapel where he enjoyed singing in the choir, and sharing the gospel with others.
Survivors include his sons, Mark (Jinny) Thompson - Nashville, In., Keith (Rhonda) Thompson - Noblesville, In., step-son, Norman (Dana) Blum - Plainfield, grandchildren, Lindsey (David) Geiselhart, Scott Thompson, 3 step-grandchildren, and 7 step-great grandchildren. "Bud" was preceded in death by two sisters, Margaret Thompson and Phyllis Myers.
Contributions may be given to Bartlett Chapel in memory of "Bud".
