H. Gene Horner

Funeral services for H. GENE HORNER, 89, of Clayton will be held 11 am Fri., Nov. 3, 2017 in the CLAYTON CHRISTIAN CHURCH located at 5110 S. State Road 39 with visitation also there 4-8 pm Thurs., Nov. 2, 2017. Burial of his cremains will take place in the Clayton Cemetery at a later date.

Gene was born in Lawrence Co., In. to Milton and Lizzie (Collier) Horner. He graduated from Tunnelton High School. Gene married Betty Phillips June 27, 1948 in Buddah, In. He was a lineman for Public Service 22 years, retiring in 1990. Gene was a member of Clayton Christian Church serving faithfully as an elder for many years. Contributions may be given to the church in memory of Gene.

Survivors include his loving wife of 69 years, Betty, children, Sharon (Jim) Owen - Terre Haute, Mike (Jennifer) Horner - Avon, Terry (Darlene) Horner - Coatesville, Cindy (Leonard) McGlothlin - Plainfield, Penny (Tom) Branstetter - Clayton, 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and 2 brothers, Ernie Horner - Terre Haute and Raymond Horner - Mobile, AL. Gene was preceded in death by a grandchild, 3 brothers, and a sister.
