Grace (Holley) McBride

Funeral services for GRACE (HOLLEY) McBRIDE, 85, of Danville, will be held at 10 am Thurs., July 13, at the DANVILLE FRIENDS CHURCH. Visitation will take place 6-8 pm Wed., July 12 at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE. Burial will be in Danville South Cemetery next to her late husband, Fred E. McBride.

Grace was born in Kosciusko, Mississippi, a daughter of the late Sam B. and Lillian (Morgan) Holley. She graduated from Kosciusko High School. Grace married Fred E. McBride July 1, 1950 in Durant, Mississippi, he preceded her in death on Jan. 8, 2004. They came to live in Danville in 1955. Grace had worked at the former Dinsmore Basket Shop in Danville for 5 years, and had been the assistant manager at the former Danners Store in Danville for 25 years prior to retiring. She was a charter member and historian of the former Hillcrest Baptist Church in Danville, as well as serving as treasurer of the church for 20 years.
Grace is survived by her daughters, Jeannie (Patrick) McKee, of Danville, Susan McBride, of Fredericksburg, VA., grandchildren, Amber (Jeremy) Wisehart, of Wilkinson, In., Aaron McKee, of Evansville, Austin McKee, of Indianapolis, a great grandson, Kash Wisehart, a sister, Helen (Bill) Thompson, of St. Louis, MO. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Grace was preceded in death by a sister, Jean Day.
