Glenda “Jeanne” Brickler, 80, of Danville, IN passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 with her family by her side.
She was born in Indianapolis on March 20, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Kenneth and
Dorothy (Hoaglan) Gedek. She was a 1961 graduate of Danville High School. On June 3, 1962
she married her best friend, Phil Brickler.
Jeanne was Treasurer of the Danville Community School System for 20 years. She was a
lifelong member of the Danville Christian Church, serving as Assistant Treasurer, Deaconess,
and teacher of children’s church. After her retirement in 2006 she became involved with the
Hope Haven and New Beginnings therapeutic riding facilities where she spent many hours
working with the horses and the riders. Her grandchildren were her greatest passion and she
spent many hours attending their various school sports and club activities.
Jeanne is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Phil Brickler of Danville; 3 daughters,
Shelley (Dan) Horner of Danville, Dee (Kevin) Arnone of Danville and Ginger O’Brien of
Danville; 4 grandchildren, Amanda Horner of Colorado, Nick Arnone, Meghan and Emilee
O’Brien, all of Danville. In addition to her parents, Jeanne is predeceased by her infant son
Brian Brickler and grandson, Sam Arnone A special thank you goes out to the nursing staff
in the memory care unit at Woodland Terrace for the loving care Jeanne received over
the last 2 years and the support given to her family.
The family will receive friends at the Danville Christian Church on Monday, May 20, 2024
from 10:00 am until the time of service beginning at to 2pm. She will be laid to rest in the
Danville South Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne’s name to the
Alzheimer’s Organization of Indiana at alz.org/Indiana.
