Glenda "Carol" (Harvey) Elsbury, 74, of Danville passed away at her home Tuesday, October 16, 2018. She was born in Indianapolis to the late Glen M. and Lois E. (Brown) Harvey. Carol was raised in Danville, graduating from Danville High School, with the class of 1962. While a sophomore, she met her future husband of 55 years, James E. "Jim" Elsbury on a blind date. They were married March 16, 1963. Carol was an administrative assistant for the Danville Community School Corporation for the past 38 years. She was a certified cosmetologist, active in her profession. She had also worked at the former King School Equipment Company in Danville, as well as in the offices of the Hendricks County Clerk and Auditor. Carol had also been an active 4-H leader and a member of the Danville Christian Church.
Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm Friday, October 19, 2018 at Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon, with funeral services there 10:30 am Saturday, October 20, 2018. Burial will follow in Danville South Cemetery.
Surviving with her husband, Jim, are her children, Denise (Tim) Tahara of Elkhart, IN., David (Amy) Elsbury of McCordsville, IN., grandchildren, Ryan (Katie) Tahara, Kurt (Alexis) Tahara, Luke Elsbury, Jackson Crawford, and a great grandson, Davis Tahara. Carol was preceded in death by a son, Darren, and her sister, Harriett White, and brother, James Harvey.
Contributions may be given to the Danville High School Lunch Donation Program in memory of Carol.
