Gerald "Jerry" Edward Legan

June 28, 1939 — September 3, 2019

A memorial visitation for "Jerry" will take place from 2:00 pm until 6:00 pm SUN., SEPT. 8, 2019 at BARTLETT CHAPEL UNITED METHODIST CHURCH in AVON. Inurnment of his cremains will take place in Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery at Elwood, IL. at a later date.

"Jerry" was born in Kankakee, IL. to the late Harvey and Lorene (Mathis) Legan. He graduated from Kempton (IL.) High School, and later received a BS degree in Business Adminstration from Governor State University in Chicago. "Jerry" had been a materials inspector for the State of Illinois Department of Transportation for 35 years, retiring in 1992. He married Rhonda Webster on Feb. 14, 1960, she too passed away Sept. 3, 2019. "Jerry" served his country in the U.S. Army. He was a member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church. He enjoyed quilting, and was a member of the Quilters Guild of Kankakee, IL. and Hendricks County.

Survivors include his children, Brian (Elaine) Legan - Albuquerque, NM., Bruce (Judy) Legan - Danforth, IL., Brad (Michelle) Legan - Danville, IN., Bonnie (William) Burgess - Safety Harbor, FL., 7 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister, Judy (Pat) Holohan - Kankakee, IN.,  and a sister-in-law, Carolyn Legan - Kankakee, IL. "Jerry" was preceded in death by his brothers, Leonard and Wayne Legan, and a grandchild, Tyler Legan.
