Geneva (Leonard) Lane

Geneva, 88, formerly of Avon, passed away at her home Friday with her family by her side. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Saturday, Feb. 8, 2020 at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE, with visitation there from 11:00 AM until the time of services. Burial will follow in the Hudson Hill Cemetery near Gosport, Indiana where she will be laid to rest next to her husband of 55 years, "Junior".

Geneva was born in Spencer, Indiana to the late John and Virgie (Cassida) Leonard. She graduated from Spencer High School with the class of 1947. She married June "Junior" Lane Dec. 18, 1948, he preceded her in death Jan. 1, 2002. Geneva was a line worker at Western Electric Corporation both in Indianapolis, IN. and Phoenix, AZ. for 26 years prior to retiring. She also enjoyed being a homemaker. Geneva was an active member of Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in Avon serving with the U.M.W., Care Bears, and TLC programs. She and Junior enjoyed square dancing. They were "Champion" dancers with several groups including the "Pairs & Squares".

Survivors include her daughters, Nancy (John) Smith of Ft. Collins, Colorado, Judy Ann Reid of Rockledge, Florida, grandchildren, John "David" (Lori) Reid of Viera, FLorida, and Sonja (Jimmy) Lezama of Clermont, Florida. Geneva was preceded in death by 4 brothers and 4 sisters.

Contributions may be given to the Bartlett Chapel United Methodist Church in memory of Geneva.
