Elden L. Stowell

At Elden's request, following his cremation, a family gathering and memorial service will take place at a later date. He passed away Monday afternoon at Life's Journey Hospice of Avon.

Elden, 85, was born in Brainerd, Minnesota to the late Clyde and Lyla (Johnson) Stowell. He graduated from Brainerd High School. Elden later married Alyce M. Preisinger in 1955, she preceded him in death Nov. 11, 2009. Prior to moving to Hendricks County (Avon), in 2000, and most recently to Martinsville, Elden grew up in Brainerd, Minnesota, later moving to Cloquet, Minnesota. He owned and operated "Stowell's Furniture Store" as well as the "Outdoors Unlimited Sporting Goods Store" in Cloquet for many years. Elden had been a member of the Bethany Covenant Lutheran Church in Cloquet.

Survivors include his daughters, Debra (Eugene) Lewis of Brownsburg, Deanna Clark of Medina, Ohio, Donna (James) Blizzard of Alabama, 11 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and a brother, James Stowell of Cloquet, Minnesota. Eldon was also preceded in death by a son, David.
