In less than a week of his wife, EDITH L. GIES CAYLOR'S passing (6/30/17), EDWARD J. "RED" CAYLOR, SR., has passed away. A graveside service will be held July 19, at 11:00 am at New Winchester Cemetery in New Winchester, Indiana. As a career soldier in the United States Army, "Red" will be laid to rest, with full military honors.
"Red" was born to Floyd and Rita (Dever) Caylor, on August 30, 1928 in Hendricks County, Indiana. He graduated from Danville High School. "Red" retired from the United States Army after 20 plus years of service to his country. He served during WWII, post Korea, and in Vietnam. He had worked in the parts department for several auto dealerships. He attended Calvary Chapel in Danville and was a former member of the Danville American Legion Post 118. Survivors include a son, Edward J. (Diane) Caylor, Jr. - Danville. 4 step-children, Martina, Frank, Norbert, and Michael Gies, all of Germany. "Red" is also survived by 4 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his first wife Lynn Gies Caylor, a son Tim J. Caylor, and a daughter Terry Lynn Caylor.
