Donna Jeanne Turnell

Donna J. Turnell, 78, of Indianapolis, Indiana, passed away on Friday, July 28, 2023.  She was born in Indianapolis, Indiana on September 26, 1944 and was the daughter of the late Frederick and Mary Alice (Hayes) Rouse.

Donna was raised in Indianapolis and was a graduate of the Thomas Carr Howe class of 1962 where she was a majorette in the marching band and performed in many parades.  She worked in the legal field for over 35 years in various roles and loved every challenge she was presented with.  Donna was a member of the Downey Avenue Christian Church.  She loved music, traveling, dancing, and spending time with her ever-growing family.  She loved to joke and laugh and had a laugh that truly will never be forgotten.

Donna is survived by her six children, Bryon (Tracy) Behr, Tina (Phil) Shadley, Robert (Jeanetta) Behr, Michael (Carrie) Harris, Stephanie (Harry) Harris, Fred (Leslie) Turnell; Seventeen Grandchildren; Eleven Great Grandchildren; brothers Ronald (Marsha) Rouse, Don Rouse, John (Anne) Rouse; Sister Barbara (Mark) Collins, along with several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband of 35 years, Herman Turnell.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 6th, 2023 from 12:00 pm until the time of service at 2:00 pm at Helton & Harris Funeral Home in Danville, Indiana.
