Donna J Heiss

November 3, 1937 — November 27, 2022

Donna J. Heiss, 85, of Danville, passed away Sunday, November 27, 2022 at Hendricks Regional Hospital,
her family was by her side. Donna was born in Indianapolis on November 3, 1937 to the late Donald
Dale and Alice Bernadine (Atkins) Nicely. She grew up near Riverside and was a 1955 graduate of
Arsenal Technical High School. She became an L.P.N and worked at Methodist Hospital as well as
helping patients privately in their homes. Donna enjoyed gardening and definitely had a “green thumb”
for flowers and vegetables. She was a member of the Danville Christian Church, and enjoyed helping
people and spending time with friends and family.


Donna is survived by two children, Bill (LuAnn) Heiss of Brownsburg, Trish (Larry) Carter of Danville;
grandchildren, Charlie Heiss, Connie Heiss, Tim Hendricks, Robert Carter and Logan Abble; 10 great
grandchildren; sisters, Connie Minnick and Carolyn (Larry) Richardson. She is preceded in death by her
husband, Kenneth S. Heiss, Sr., her son, Kenneth S. Heiss, Jr., and her sister, Marilyn Syfers, brother-in-
law, Wayne Syfer.


A funeral service will be held on Friday, December 2, 2022 at the Danville Christian Church at 12:00 pm
with two hours of visitation prior beginning at 10:00 am. She will be entombed with her husband in
Floral Park Cemetery, the committal will take place at 3:00 pm. Online condolences may be offered at
