Donald James Switzer

Don, 96, of Plainfield, formerly of New Winchester, passed away early Wednesday morning in Eskenazi Hospital in Indianapolis. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until time of service at 11:00 am Monday, December 27, 2021 at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE. A graveside service will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery in Crawfordsville, where Don will be laid to rest next to his late wife, Marietta. The services will be conducted by the Alamo, Indiana Masonic Lodge. The wearing of masks are recommended at all the services, but are optional.

Don was born in Crawfordsville, Indiana to the late George Louis and Maude M. (Hole) Switzer. He married Marietta Duke April 14, 1946, she preceded him in death June 23, 1996. Don received his high school diploma from George Washington High School in Indianapolis. Being a farmer all of his life, Don enjoyed "working the land". He was a member of the New Winchester Baptist Church, the Alamo Masonic Lodge, and enjoyed being a part of the Hendricks County Antique Tractor Club.

Survivors include his three sons, James Louis (Diana) Switzer of Avon, Richard Alan Switzer of Sutherland, Nebraska, David L. (Sandra) Switzer of New Winchester, 8 grandchildren, and 21 great grandchildren.
