David L. "Dave" Hamilton

Dave, 75, of Martinsville, passed away at St. Franciscan Health in Indianapolis early this past Monday morning. A celebration of his life will take place at a later date. Please keep the family in your thoughts and prayers.

Dave was born in Belleville, IN. to the late Donnie and Hazel (Perkins) "Perky" Hamilton. He graduated from Cascade High School with the class of 1965. In July of 1965, Dave enlisted in the United States Air Force serving his country during the Vietnam War until his discharge in December of 1968. He served as the former fire chief at the Indianapolis International Airport for a time. Dave's passion was driving a truck, and was a self-employed truck driver for 30+years, contracting as an independent hauler for several companies. Dave married Stephanie Bush June 25, 1986. He and his "motorcycle mamma" Stephanie, enjoyed riding their "bikes" with their group of friends. They had traveled to all but (4) four states in America.

Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years, Stephanie, sons, David Wayne Hamilton and Bill Hamilton, both of Martinsville, "bonus son", Chad (Christine) Lakers of Indianapolis, 9 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, sisters, Donna (Walter/"Jr.") Reed, Judy (Ralph) Akers, and Cheryl Summers, all of Belleville, IN.
