Claire L. Birkla

August 6, 1954 — September 9, 2021

Claire, 67, of Clermont, passed away unexpectedly Thursday at her home. Funeral services will be held 1:00 pm Thursday, Sept. 16, 2021 in WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE. Burial will follow in K.of P. Cemetery at Lizton. Visitation will take place at the funeral home 4:00 - 7:00 pm Wednesday, Sept. 15, 2021. The wearing of masks is recommended, but optional.

Claire was born in Indianapolis to the late Marvin and Elizabeth (Lynch) Smith. She graduated from Avon High School with the class of 1972. Claire had been an account service representative for U.S. Food Service for 40 years, retiring in 2018. She was a member of Connection Point Church in Brownsburg, and a former member of Order of the Eastern Star.

Survivors include her son, David (Brandi) Birkla of Lizton, granddaughter, Vivian Birkla, sisters, Susie Davis of Danville, Sandy Scholz of Walton, IN., Rebecca Smith of Indianapolis, Jennie Smith of Plainfield, Patty Smith of Avon, and a brother, Michael Smith of Ormond Beach, FL.

Preceding her in death along with her parents is a sister, Tina Johnson.
