Charles G. "Charlie" Morelock

March 3, 1929 — July 4, 2021

"Charlie", 92, of Danville, passed away Sunday at home with his family by his side. Per his wishes, a cremation will take place prior to a celebration of his life service. The service will be held 7:00 pm Fri., July 16, 2021 in WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE with visitation from 4:00 pm until the time of service. A gathering of family and friends will take place at 10:00 am Saturday, July 17, 2021 at Danville South Cemetery for a graveside service and burial of his cremains. The wearing of masks are optional for both services.

"Charlie" was born in Jonesville, Virginia to the late Charles W. and Ethel (Eldridge) Morelock. He and Patricia "Pat" Sanders were married May 22, 1954, she preceded him in death Dec. 1, 2018. "Charlie" had been a police officer for the Town of Danville from August 25, 1958 until he retired Jan. 3, 1981. He was also a contract driver for the United States Postal Service for many years, as well as owning and operating Morelock and Son Excavation Service. He and his late wife "Pat", were founding members of the Hendricks County Saddle Club.

Survivors include his children, Susan "Susie" (Jim) Chezem, Jamie Sue Huffman, Wes Morelock, all of Danville, 7 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren. "Charlie" was also preceded in death by a sister, Wilma Jean Bridges.

Contributions may be given to one's favorite charity in memory of "Charlie".
