Burdette M. Allen

Graveside services with full military honors for BURDETTE M. ALLEN, 95, of Avon, will be held at 3:30 pm (cst) Fri. Aug. 4, 2017 in the River Valley Memorial Gardens Cemetery located at W. Dundee, Illinois. His home VFW Post #2298, of which he was a life member will conduct the services. There will be no visitation prior to the services.

Burdette was born in Dekalb, IL., a son of John and Edna (Krieger) Allen. He graduated from Dekalb High School. Burdette married Edna Graham who preceded him in death Jan. 7, 1978. He had been manager at the Northern Illinois Gas Company for many years before retiring. He served his country in the U.S. Army during WWII, and locally was a member of Traders Pointe Christian Church in Whitestown. Survivors include his son Brett (Susan) Allen of Avon, 2 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to Misty Eyes Animal Center in Brownsburg at www.mistyeyes.org.
