Billie Lee Hemingway

June 20, 1935 — July 8, 2022

Billie, 87, formerly of Avon and Loogootee, passed away early Friday morning at Danville Regional Rehabilitation Center with her loving daughters at her side. In keeping with Billie's request, there will be a private graveside service held at a later date. There will be no visitation. Also, the family has asked that contributions be given to the NORTH PUTNAM ALUMNI ASSOCIATION "DOLLARS FOR SCHOLARS" at P.O. Box 193, Bainbridge, Indiana 46105 in memory of Billie Lee Hemingway.

Billie was born in Enid, Oklahoma to the late Alfred and Vivian (Roberts) Webb. She graduated from Enid High School with the class of 1953. She later attended IUPUI in Indianapolis. Billie married Richard Alan "Dick" Hemingway Dec. 2, 1954 in Kansas City. Kansas. Dick preceded her in death Jan. 18, 2018. She had been a secretary at Emery Air Freight in Indianapolis for almost 20 years prior to retiring in 1984. Billie returned to work in 1997 as a freight rate specialist at the Naval Surface Warfare Center in Crane, IN. until retiring again in 2006. She was a former member of St. John's Episcopal Church in Washington, IN.

Survivors include her daughters, Patti (Mark) Henson of Plainfield, Paula (Richard) Batchelor of Bainbridge, grandchildren, Matthew Henson, Cody and R.J. Batchelor, great grandchildren, Blake Audrey Batchelor, Olympus Batchelor, and three (3) adopted grandchildren. Along with her parents, Billie was preceded in death by a son, Darrell Alan Hemingway, a daughter, Pamela Sue Hemingway, a grandson, Blake Batchelor, and her brother and sister, Val Webb and Kay Harrison.

WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME DANVILLE is entrusted with the funeral arrangements.
