Betty, 92, recently of Indianapolis, formerly of Danville, passed away at I.U. West Hospital in Avon. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 Noon Saturday, January 9, 2021 at West Bridge Church, located at 1521 S. Co. Road 75 W. Danville. Visitation will begin at 10:30 AM until the time of service. Due to the Covid-19, the family has asked that masks be worn, and social distancing be observed. (A live-stream link, will be available to be present for the services at http://yourstreamlive.com/events/1743585) Burial will follow with a graveside service 2:30 PM at Maple Grove Cemetery, Clay City, Indiana.
Betty was born in Lewis, Indiana to the late Willie J and Nitis L. (Funk) Cook. She was a graduate of Indianapolis Arsenal Technical High School. She continued her education attending Olivet Nazarene College. To know Betty was to love her and appreciate her kindred spirit. She was a true christian, serving her Lord, and others, both within and without the church until her last days.
Betty was an active member of the former First Baptist Church of Danville, now, West Bridge Church, of which she served as the secretary for 10 years. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, and delightful homemaker.
Survivors include her children, Harry L. (Jane) Johnson - Indianapolis, Karen (Rev. Glenn) Ray - Lansing, MI., Sharon G. Finlay, - Memphis, TN., Jay A. (Karen) Johnson - Zionsville, and 15 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren. A brother, Paul L. Cook, and son-in-law, John Finlay, preceded her in death.
