"Jeanie", 75, of Indianapolis, formerly of Danville, passed away at IU Health West Hospital in Avon after an extended illness. Following her request to be cremated, there will be an announcement of a "Celebration of Life" service that will be held at a later date so as to allow family, friends, and especially her classmates to gather and share memories of her life.
"Jeanie" was born in Indianapolis to the late Orville and Evelyn (Miller) Hughes. She graduated from Danville Community High School with the class of 1963. She later graduated and received a dental assistant degree from the IU School of Denistry. "Jeanie" had been a dental assistant for Michael Baumgardner, DDS, in Indianapolis for 17 years. "Jeanie" was an avid reader of books, and so enjoyed working jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her loving husband of 27 years, Raymond D. "Ray" Brown, whom she married May 25, 1994, daughters, Elainia (Michael) Langley of Mooresville, Jamie (Randy) Starr of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., and grandson, Andrew Langley of Mooresville. Also surviving is a brother, Donald (Judy) Hughes of Indianapolis, a sister, Judy Bird of Crossville, TN., and several nieces and nephews.
