Barbara J. Burns

Barbara J. Burns, 74, of Swartz Creek, MI passed away on Monday, November 28, 2022, at the
Independence Village of Avon. Barb was born in Flint, Michigan on September 3, 1948, to the late Glen
R. and Ruth (Norton) Mills. She graduated from Flint Northern High School with the class of 1966 and
later received an Associate’s degree in accounting. Barb worked for and later retired from the GM
Motor Company as a Press Operator General and Metal Fabricator. She, with her late husband, Joe
Burns enjoyed traveling in their motorhome, “snowbirding” in Zephyr Hills, Florida, playing golf,
gardening, and canning her vegetables. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her family.

Barb is survived by her children, Scott (Marisa) Seeley of Lake Orion, MI, Stacey (Carl) Hummel of Danville,
IN; stepchildren, Jeffrey (Carina) Burns of Aalen, Germany, David (Rachel) Burns of Spencerville, IN, Terri
Burns Owens of Waterford Township, MI, Katie Burns Charter of Clarkston, MI; her brother, Larry (Della)
Mills of AuGres, MI; grandchildren, Caleb, Casey, Caden, Eva, Emilio, Regina, Eric, Amanda, Joseph, Jacob, Audrianna, David, Kayli, Ella, Cole, Daniel, and Jessica; numerous step-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and late husband, Barb is preceded in death by her
brother, George Mills.

The family will gather for a private farewell, and plan for a Celebration of her life, later next year.
