Joe and Barb Williams of Clayton, passed away together unexpectedly, on August 30, 2024. In addition to their parents, they are preceded in death by their daughter, Tammi Bayles; Joe's siblings, Elizabeth Williams, Estell Pierce, and Runelle Urban; Barb's siblings, Jeanette Burkette, Greta Davis, Sam Stinnett, and Charles Stinnett.
Bennie Joe Williams was born in Acton, Marion County Indiana on August 3, 1944 and Barbara Jean (Stinnett) was born in Paint-Lick, Kentucky on November 24, 1945. From the moment they met they were always together. They were married September 9, 1966. Joe was a very hard worker that eventually took over his dad's auto body business, Williams Garage with two of his son's. One of his favorite things to do was sit in the body shop drinking his coffee, and telling his Parkers stories. Barb was the heart of the family. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She was the glue that held everyone together. She always looked forward to family visits, and spending time with grandkids. Together they were the perfect couple. They really enjoyed their Sunday trips to Denny's and the casino. We couldn't have asked for better parents/grandparents. They will never be forgotten, and will forever be in our hearts.
They are survived by their 4 children, Sara (Chris) Stockwell of Clayton, Joey (Billie) Williams of Clayton, John (Ginny) Williams of Stilesville, and Ben (Christy) Williams of Clayton; 17 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; Joe's sister, Ruth Reed, Barbara's brother's Gary, Donald, and Jack Stinnett, and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 from 4pm to 7pm, at Clayton Christian Church. The funeral service will be held the following day, Wednesday, September 11, 2024 at 12pm in the church. Joe and Barbara will be laid to rest in Clayton Cemetery, Clayton Indiana.
