Anita S. (Rugenstein) Hedrick, 77 of Danville, passed away on Monday, December 23, 2024, with her family by her side. She was born April 24, 1947 in Indianapolis, a daughter of the late Evans and Frieda (Jones) Rugenstein. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brothers David Rugenstein, Walter "Ted" Rugenstein and Evans "Sonny" Rugenstein, Jr. and sister Diane Rugenstein Hatley.
She grew up in Mooresville, Indiana and graduated from Monrovia High School. Anita married Michael L. Hedrick on April 11, 1970 and together they had two sons, Michael and Erick. Anita worked as a housekeeper for many years while raising their sons. She later went on to work at Menards as a cashier. Anita enjoyed going on motorcycle rides and trips out west. She enjoyed working in her flower beds and watching the birds and squirrels in the yard. She was a member of Our Shepherd Lutheran Church and also a member of American Legion Post 500 Auxiliary. Anita's love for her family will be cherished and she will live on in our hearts. We will remember to live our lives as she did hers..."Any job worth doing, was worth doing well".
Anita is survived by her loving husband of 54 years, Mike Hedrick; children, Michael (Sarah) Hedrick of Danville, Erick Hedrick of Danville; and 2 grandchildren, Kasey and Levi. The Hedrick family will receive friends and family on Saturday, January 4, 2025 from 1-3 pm. at Our Shepherd Lutheran Church, 9201 E. County Road 100 N., Avon, IN 46123. A Celebration of Life will begin at 3:00 p.m. In addition to or in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Anita’s name to St. Labre Indian School or St. Joseph's Indian School.
