Alberta M. Cooper

Alberta M. Cooper, 93, of Danville entered into the presence of her Savior, Saturday, October 22, 2022. Alberta suffered a stroke on October 15th while sleeping and passed away one week later at Life’s Journey of Avon Hospice, family was at her bedside.  The family will receive friends on Sunday, October 30, 2022, from 4:00 -7:00 PM at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME, DANVILLE.  A Celebration of Life will be held, where Alberta put her trust in Christ over 75 years ago, at HAZELWOOD CHRISTIAN CHURCH, Hazelwood, IN, Monday, October 31, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with an hour of visitation beginning at 10:00 AM.  Burial will follow in the Center Valley Cemetery, Clayton, IN. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the Whitestone Christian Church, 8045 US-36, Coatesville, IN 46121.

Alberta was born in Indianapolis, IN, on December 20, 1928, to the late Erzle and Bessie (Query) Weddle.  She was a 1946 graduate of Monrovia High School and earned a degree from Indiana Business College. On March 3, 1951, she married Robert Spurlock, with whom she’d start and raise a family, sharing 43 loving years before his death, June 24, 1994.  Later, she met and married Ralph Cooper, sharing 7 wonderful years before his death in 2005.  Alberta spent many years country line dancing at the Senior Center in Danville, where she also oil painted in earlier years.  She was a member of Whitestone Christian Church and enjoyed spending time with her family most of all.

Survivors include her daughters, Shari (Barry) Bucher of Clayton, Lynda (Doug) Edwards of North Salem; sister, Marjorie Nieman of Indianapolis; grandchildren, Jachin Pendleton, Nathan Pendleton, April Turner, Amber Flater, and Clayton Edwards, and 18 great-grandchildren.
