Cory Everett Johnson

Cory Everett Johnson, 45, of Indianapolis, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 20, 2023. He was

born in Indianapolis on July 15, 1978, son of the late, Ed Johnson and Kathy (Harrold) Johnson Hess.

Cory graduated from Cascade High School with the class of 1996, then went on to receive a B.S. in

Computer Science from Purdue University.

Cory was so many things. He worked as a software engineer, he was an accomplished cook and

enjoyed cooking for family and friends, he enjoyed playing golf and was a participant in the John

Mitchell Tournament for over 25 years, he loved to travel and enjoyed gardening. Cory's humor was

infectious. He could walk into a room, not knowing a soul and walk out with lifelong friends.

Cory is survived by his mother and stepfather, Kathy and Larry Hess of Clayton; sister, Jenna (Ryan) Drake,

their children, Lorelei and Griffin; he leaves behind many friends, and his two beloved cats. In addition

to his father, Ed Johnson, Cory is predeceased by his grandparents, Virginia and Den Harrold and Louise

and Bill Louden.

The family will receive friends at Helton & Harris Funeral Home, 102 S. Indiana St., Danville, IN 46122,

on Friday, July 28th from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 12:00 p.m.

Burial will follow in Clayton Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be offered to the

Hendricks County Humane Society, 3033 E. Main St., Danville, IN 46122.
